Green Beans & Onions

Ingredients
In the large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat until the butter melts. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, long enough to infuse the butter-oil mixture with flavor but not long enough to burn. Add the red pepper flakes and soy sauce, then stir to combine. After another minute, add the green beans, stir to coat with all the flavorful goodness mingling in the pan, and sauté them almost to your desired level of doneness, 8 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally. I prefer my green beans with a little crunch, so I tend to fall on the shorter end of cooking time.
Once the green beans are just about done, toss in the julienned onions, stir to combine, and cook for another two to five minutes, until the onions have softened but maintain their lovely crunch and zingy bite. Serve and enjoy!
Using frozen green beans? Thaw first and allow them to drain in order to rid them of excess water before starting the cooking process.
